The Martin Luther King Jr. Soccer League (MLKJSL) was founded in 1980 by 26 individuals and named in honor of the
Civil Rights Leader. The league was formed to teach kids the fundamental skills of soccer whether it’s recreational,
developmental or travel.
Throughout the years, the Martin Luther King Jr Soccer League has hosted over 1, 000 kids, ranging from ages 7 to 19 and is considered one of the oldest and largest club in Hartford. The MLKJSL was incorporated in Connecticut as a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. Today, the league provides the same opportunities for youths between the ages of 14 to 19.
